The Barangaroo Delivery Authority was established under the Barangaroo Delivery Authority Act 2009 to manage the city waterfront development at Barangaroo and to deliver world class benchmarks in urban design, public domain and sustainability.

The creation of the Authority reinforces the NSW Government’s commitment to the delivery of Barangaroo in a coordinated and financially responsible manner.

• CEO of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority is John Tabart
  
  
• John Tabart, the Chief Executive Officer of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, has a strong record in property development, including his most recent post as Managing Director of Explore Capital Ltd, a UK property development and funds management subsidiary of Laing O’Rourke Plc.
  
  
• John also spent 10 years as CEO of the Docklands Authority and VicUrban, the Victorian State Government’s property development arm, which oversaw the landmark $16 billion, 200-hectare Melbourne Docklands development.
  
  
• Other previous roles include a position as non-executive Director of Sama Dubai LLC in Dubai, and Sama Dubai Australia Pty Ltd; CEO of Mirage Resorts in Australia and the USA; and Development Director of Brisbane International Airport.
  
  
• John is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institution of Engineers, the Australian Institute of Public Administration, and a past member of the REMIT Global Sustainability Board.

In June 2008, a panel of experts in the fields of architecture, landscape and culture was appointed to provide informed urban design and public domain advice as the Barangaroo development moves into the planning design and delivery phase.

The Design Excellence Review Panel is chaired by former Prime Minister, Paul Keating. Other Panel members include:
