Laing O'Rourke was appointed in March 2011 to
do preliminary works on the Headland Park site in readiness for the
construction of the main works.
Laing O'Rourke has extensive experience in
complex civil infrastructure and building projects, following an
open tender process.
Under their early works contract, Laing
O'Rourke has the responsibility to:
- construct a concrete retaining wall at the northern end of the
site
- commence construction of northern part of the Headland
Park including some general fill from Barangaroo South
- excavate shallow soil from the planned sandstone extraction pit
and extract sandstone blocks from the bedrock for reuse on the
Headland Park.
