Over 60 percent of Barangaroo's total area will be public domain including the recreated Headland Park which will emulate the historic shape of Millers Point. In addition, the proposal will return 50 percent of public waterfront space back to the community, with 100 percent of the waterfront edge devoted to public use. The precinct and the thousands of future users and citizens will also be reconnected with the city. The final stage in the 14 kilometre foreshore walk linking Woolloomooloo to Anzac Bridge will also be completed. The winning design team announced in February 2010, Johnson Pilton Walker, in association with Peter Walker and Partners Landscape Architecture, will work with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority to design the new Headland Park and other public spaces. This highly regarded team will design key open space features for the waterfront commercial, residential and leisure precinct, including the creation of the harbourside park and restoration of the entire harbour headland to a more natural shape. There will be opportunities during 2010, for the community to be involved in the design process.
