A new crowd record has been set for an event at Barangaroo Reserve, with more than 50,000 people attending the 1st Birthday celebrations on Sunday.
The 1st Birthday was also the last day of Sculpture at Barangaroo which saw a total of 150,000 people visit the Reserve during the 16-day exhibition.
The previous record for an event at Barangaroo Reserve was 40,000 on Australia Day this year.
“Sydney’s newest harbourside park is very quickly becoming one of its most popular,” Craig van der Laan, Chief Executive Officer of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority said.
“We were delighted to see so many people bringing their friends and family to the Reserve. We know how much passion, creativity and sheer hard work went into creating the Reserve, so to see it being embraced by Sydney is a real joy.
“The sculpture exhibition was an outstanding success, and the 50,000 people who came through our gates yesterday was the icing on the cake, making it the biggest event in our short history.”
