NSW Premier Mike Baird has announced a grand transit hall and public concourse together with a new entrance from George Street to complete the transformation of Wynyard Station.
The changes, which will follow the current upgrade of Wynyard’s station concourse and platforms, are the centrepiece of “Wynyard Place,” a new commercial and retail precinct.
This week also saw the opening of a new pedestrian access route between the corner of Kent Street and Margaret Street and the Sussex Street Bridge. The new route marks the first in a series of changes due to happen as part of the Wynyard Walk project.
In September 2015, the first section of Wynyard Walk was completed with the opening of Sussex Street Bridge. The Wynyard Walk tunnel will provide direct access between Wynyard Station and Barangaroo is due to open later in 2016.
