CULTURE & BARANGAROO – COMMUNITY FORUM – 1 SEPTEMBER 2010
We want people from all over the city to contribute their ideas, thoughts and suggestions about how Barangaroo can be a culturally vibrant precinct that works for all of Sydney.
That's why we are holding a cultural consultation program, including a range of forums and an opportunity to make submissions to the Authority. Individuals and organisations with an interest in culture and the arts are encouraged to make submissions.
Join us at a community forum on Wednesday 1 September, where you will:

Hear about designs for Barangaroo’s Headland Park from renowned landscape architect Peter Walker, including a cultural space under the headland.

Take part in a discussion about the cultural opportunities across Barangaroo, including Headland Park, Barangaroo Central and Barangaroo South.

Friday 20th August 2010 – Film crew onsite
On Friday, Barangaroo will be the backdrop for a new Sci-fi feature film. Filming will take place at the northern end of the site between 2pm and 7pm. The scenes being filmed are short, basic sequences with little or no noise. The Foreshore Walk will remain open at all times.

17th August 2010 - Army pilots conduct helicopter training over Sydney
Up to four Black Hawk helicopters will conduct flights over Sydney this week as part of a training exercise. The exercise will involve some low-altitude flying to ensure junior pilots and aircrew are well trained in operating over urban areas.
Tomorrow the Black Hawks will conduct multiple ‘approach and hover’ manoeuvres over the Cruise Liner, Pacific Jewel, Wharf 5 Barangaroo, Darling Harbour from approximately 10:15am – 11:15am. Times and locations of flights are approximations only and are subject to change at short notice.
Executive Officer of the 6th Aviation Regiment, Major Paul Lewis said the training had been designed to have as little impact on residents as possible but some noise would be noticeable.
“The Army thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this necessary and essential training is undertaken,” said Major Lewis. |

11 August 2010 – Helicopter landing at Barangaroo
A helicopter will briefly land at Barangaroo to pick up passengers at 3:30pm and will return to drop off passengers at 4:00pm.
Helicopter movements will be completed as quickly as possible with no disruption to the Foreshore Walk

26-28 July 2010 – Helicopters at Barangaroo
Monday 26 July 2010 - 3 x helicopters will land at Barangaroo and drop off passengers at 5:30pm.
Wednesday 28 July 2010 - 3 x helicopters will pickup passengers at 10am and drop them back to Barangaroo at 3pm.
All helicopter movements will be completed as quickly as possible.

Friday 23rd July, Unit Base Onsite
A film production company will use Barangaroo as a unit base while they film in locations around the Sydney CBD. The unit base will include 4 trucks, 20 cars and 50 crew members.

17th July, Nova 969 Filming a TV advert onsite
Radio station Nova 969 will be onsite at Barangaroo to film a TV advert involving up to 400 extras.
They will be onsite from 8am and be finished by 1pm.
The Foreshore Walk will remain open as usual.

Help Shape Headland Park at Barangaroo - Saturday 10 July 2010
Come along to the Barangaroo Headland Park Design Open Day with friends and family for a day out by the harbour, where Sydney’s newest waterfront park is being created.
International landscape architect, Peter Walker and his team, will be on hand to talk about plans for the park and we want to hear your ideas for making this a special part of Sydney.
Where: At Barangaroo, Gate 3 off Towns Place, Millers Point or just follow the foreshore walk.
When: Saturday July 10 from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm

A container vessel with engine failure was towed into Sydney Harbour from Port Botany last night for emergency engine repairs. The repairs require the Maersk Gateshead to be berthed at Barangaroo and are expected to take up to 3 to 4 days. |

30th June, Temporary Foreshore Walk Closure
The Foreshore Walk between King Street Wharf and Gate 4 will be closed until 8am on the 30th June while works are undertaken on the Temporary Cruise Passenger Terminal.

Temporary Changes to Foreshore Walk
Preparations for the opening of the Interim (Temporary) Passenger Terminal at Barangaroo 5 require the closure of the foreshore walk from King Street Wharf through to just north of the Interim Passenger Terminal for Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 June. This closure is necessary to allow for the transfer of equipment, barriers, shipping containers and other items from Wharf 8 to the Interim Terminal in preparation of the commissioning of the Interim Passenger Terminal later this month.
The foreshore walk will remain open on the northern end of the site. |

17 June, CEO Sleepout, Luna Park Sydney
CEO of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, John Tabart is proud to be participating in this year's St Vincent de Paul Society's CEO sleepout event on 17 June at Luna Park. The sleepout aims to raise awareness on homelessness and to raise funds for Vinnies to continue their homeless services across Sydney and nationally. |

Sunday 16 June, Temporary Cruise Passenger Terminal
Works are required on Sunday 16 June as part of the Temporary Cruise Passenger Terminal construction at Barangaroo, due to the recent weather. he works will be limited to fitting out the temporary terminal such as laying flooring and cabling. |

Friday 11 June – Ongoing site investigations
As part of the ongoing site investigation work which commenced in February 2010, the onsite drums will now be relocated to a central area. It's anticipated this work will be limited to one day, from 7am to 5pm, Friday 11th June 2010. |

SOTA Creative will be filming a television commercial at the northern end of Barangaroo throughout the day. |

Tourism Australia will be filming a TV commercial and during the day they will be using Barangaroo to reload cameras and refuel the helicopter.
There will be limited landings between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm and the crew have agreed to limit helicopter movements in order to minimise the noise impact to the surrounding area. |
