The Hickson Park Amenities Building is now open in Barangaroo South. Developed in partnership with Lendlease and designed by architects Nobbs Radford, the new building features restrooms with a rooftop garden. A kiosk will be opened there within the coming months.
This building celebrates the traditional owners of the land. It is the first building in Barangaroo to be constructed by a majority-owned Indigenous business:
- the building was constructed by NPM Indigenous, who provide meaningful employment and economic opportunities for Australia’s First People within the construction industry,
- the rooftop garden was designed and curated by Clarence Slockee from Jiwah and complements the native endemic plant species found throughout the Barangaroo precinct. Although the rooftop is not accessible to the public it provides an attractive display for surrounding neighbours. A small artwork by Lucy Simpson “Gaawaa” sits nestled in the rooftop garden.
