Temporary art at Barangaroo

One of the aims of the Barangaroo Public Art and Cultural Plan is to deliver a distinctive program of temporary art and cultural events to embed Barangaroo in Sydney’s, indeed the nation’s, cultural landscape.

Sydney Contemporary

27 August - 21 September 2018
Sydney Contemporary returned to Barangaroo for a second year with three leading Australian artists creating large-scale, site- specific works that sat throughout Barangaroo’s commercial, retail and dining precinct.

Reko Rennie — As The Crow Flies

A large-scale, three-colour installation by renowned aboriginal artist Reko Rennie. Titled As the Crow Flies, Rennie’s work was installed over a 1,500 square-metre footprint.

As the Crow Flies was commissioned by Lendlease, the developer of the commercial and retail precinct, under the Barangaroo Public Art and Cultural Plan, also supported by International Towers Sydney, Dulux and the Barangaroo Delivery Authority.

Nike Savvas — Papillon

A large-scale installation by renowned artist Nike Savvas, this dynamic and spectacular artwork was comprised of beautifully coloured ribbons suspended from the ceiling of Exchange Place.

Papillon was a collaboration between Nike Savvas and Urban Art Projects, commissioned by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority as part of the annual temporary art program at Barangaroo.

Vo Trong Nghia — Green Ladder
