If you are not at Barangaroo South or Wulugul Walk, you’re not at the right entry. Follow the signage and staff directions to ensure a smooth arrival.

Barangaroo Reserve opens with managed access from 11am on New Year’s Eve. In 2024, the site reached capacity by 5pm, so plan to arrive early to secure your spot. All visitors will pass through security screening upon entry, so allow extra time for queuing and bag checks.
Getting to Barangaroo Reserve
The only entry point to Barangaroo Reserve on New Year’s Eve is via Nawi Cove. To access it, you must enter Wulugul Walk from Barangaroo South, no other entrances will be open. All other access points to the Reserve, including those via Towns Place and Argyle Street, will be closed for the event.If you are not at Barangaroo South or Wulugul Walk, you’re not at the right entry. Best ways to travel
With extensive road closures and thousands of people heading into the city, public transport is by far the easiest and fastest way to get to Barangaroo. Extra metro, train, bus and ferry services will be running throughout the night, with transport hubs located close to the site.Metro:
- Take the Sydney Metro to Barangaroo Station. Exit the station, turn right onto Hickson Road and walk around 700 metres along Wulugul Walk to reach the Nawi Cove entry point.
- From Wynyard Station, use the Barangaroo exit. Follow the arrows north along Hickson Road, turn left onto Barton Street, then right onto Wulugul Walk. Continue straight to Nawi Cove.
- Bus routes 252, 254, 261, 288, 290 and 292 all serve King Street Wharf, just a short walk from Barangaroo South.
