Accessible Viewing Area
For New Year’s Eve at Barangaroo, there is a reserved Accessible Viewing Area for people with accessibility needs to enjoy with their family and friends with a dedicated accessible entry point and accessible toilets available.
Lift access changes during construction
For the remainder of the Cutaway fit-out works, access to the lift at ground level (the Cutaway entrance) is unavailable for public safety. Alternative accessible routes are available, and a buggy service is operating for those who need additional support. Please note the buggy will not operate from midnight on 30 December to 6.00am on 1 January 2025, due to New Year's Eve event management.
To register your interest please complete via form below or contact barangaroo.nye@property.nsw.gov.au with your requirements. You will be notified if there is a space available and provided with a link to reserve the number of tickets you require.
Getting to the Accessible Viewing Area
The entry point for the NYE2024 Accessible Viewing Area is located at the corner of Bettington and Merriman Streets, near Hotel Palisade.
Due to extensive road closures and high pedestrian traffic in the city, public transport is the easiest option to get to the event:
- Barangaroo Metro Station - please note that Metro services to Barangaroo Station will cease from 5pm to 11.45pm for crowd safety.
- Wynyard Station
No glass, no camping, no sunshades, no re-entry, no pets and no busking. Also, no chairs, umbrellas, tents, structures will be permitted.
There will be no re-entry, meaning it will not be guaranteed that you will be able to re-enter once you leave vantage points. Food trucks and free water will be accessible inside the Reserve. Please review the terms and conditions and prohibited items before you arrive.

- Train: Wynyard station is about a 10-minute walk away along Wulugul Walk accessible via Wynyard Walk
- Metro: The Sydney Metro will be running services to Barangaroo until 5pm. From 5pm to 11.45pm Barangaroo Metro Station will be closed for crowd safety.
- Bus: Routes 252, 254, 261, 288, 290 and 292 serve King Street Wharf. Find information on buses here.
- Please note that Wilson Parking at Barangaroo is closed on New Year's Eve

- Train: Wynyard station is about a 10-minute walk away from Barangaroo Reserve. The best way to exit to reach Wynyard Station is via Towns Place exit and along Hickson Rd
- Metro: The Sydney Metro will be running services from Barangaroo to the wider Sydney Metro network from 11.45pm. The best way to exit to get to Barangaroo Metro Station is via Towns Place exit and along Hickson Rd

Entry into Barangaroo Reserve will be subject to capacity and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Police and event organisers may close the vantage area at any time for public safety. Once closed it is unlikely that vantage points may re-open for additional crowds.
The Reserve will be busy however there is space for a safe and enjoyable evening. There is no reserved seating so it is recommended to arrive early to secure your place, as the best picnic spots will fill quickly.
Yes. To ensure the public are safe inside Barangaroo Reserve, security checks will be conducted, which can make entry a little slower.
No. Cloaking services and/or lockers are not available.
No. This is a licensed event. Alcohol is available for purchase.
Yes, but to meet licensing restrictions only unopened, sealed non-alcoholic drinks are permitted. As a result, thermoses or other unsealed drinks are not permitted. Refillable water bottles are permitted but must be empty upon arrival. Water fountains are available across Barangaroo Reserve to fill these once you have entered.
Only soft eskies will be permitted, up to 20L capacity. See prohibited items chart on website to confirm which eskies are accepted onsite.
There is no ice available onsite.
Yes, picnic and BYO food is permitted. Please ensure all non-alcoholic beverages are sealed and unopened.
Yes. Food trucks will be available on the night.
Yes. There will be road closures commencing from 2pm on New Year's Eve as large crowds are expected. If you travel into the city, plan your trip and arrive early.
