Akala Newman
Akala Newman is an electrifying artist who blends her Wiradjuri-Gadi heritage with a bold, contemporary sound. Known for her powerful vocals and unapologetic songwriting, she fuses futuristic EDM with personal storytelling. Akala performed "Calling Country" for Sydney's New Year’s Eve Fireworks and opened VIVID 2024 at Tumbalong Park, standing out in Australia’s music scene for her dedication to amplifying First Nations voices.
Charlie Villas
Charlie Vellas, one of Australia’s favorite party starters and in-demand DJs, hails from the Philippines and now calls the Blue Mountains home on Darug and Gundungurra land. Known for her seamless blend of diverse musical styles, she channels the spirit of iconic New York clubs, infusing disco, 80s boogie, and global hits to create unforgettable dance floor experiences.
Dhinawan Yarn
Dhinawan Yarn & Entertainment is a Gomeroi Aboriginal-owned business that shares and celebrates Indigenous culture through didgeridoo performances, dance, and educational experiences. With a young group of community performers from La Perouse, their sessions combine music, mindfulness, offering a unique insight into Aboriginal traditions.
DJ Naian
DJ Naian, a proud Bundjalung Aboriginal South Sea Islander from Lismore, NSW, is a dynamic DJ known for keeping audiences energized and on their feet. With over 20 years in community radio and arts, he brings a wealth of experience to his performances. Naian also produces The Drift Zone Podcasts, including a special episode from the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day 2021.
Majeda Beatty (MC)
Majeda Beatty is a dynamic singer, rapper, dancer, and host of First Nation and African American descent. Based in Sydney, she proudly represents both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures while sharing her perspective as an Indigenous millennial woman. Drawing from her Wuthathi heritage and African American roots, Majeda promotes cultural diversity through her work, with a strong focus on storytelling, and modern expression.
The Morrisons
Blending folk and old-time music, The Morrisons craft songs that resonate with Australian stories. They are a bluegrass-inspired band known for their exceptional musicianship and soulful storytelling. The 7-piece group has performed at major festivals like Port Fairy Folk and Blue Mountains Music Festival. With a Golden Guitar nomination and an Australian Songwriters Award, their sound continues to captivate audiences.
William Barton
William Barton is a master Yidaki player and composer whose extraordinary career spans two decades, from performing with the London and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras to historic events like Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey and the Beijing Olympics. A proud Kalkadunga man, he has redefined the didgeridoo's role in classical music.
