Barangaroo is once again one of the brightest stars of Vivid Sydney - Sydney’s dazzling 23 day celebration of light, music, food and ideas running from 22 May - 13 Jun 2026.

Stretching from The Rocks to Darling Harbour, the iconic 6.5 km Vivid Light Walk passes right through our stunning waterfront precinct, making Barangaroo a must stop destination on your glowing journey.

This year’s festival brings two major light installations to Barangaroo, each offering its own flavour of wonder, Molecule of Light at Barangaroo Reserve, and Obstacle on Wulugul Walk.

For 2026, the beloved Vivid Fire Kitchen officially moves into its new home on Stargazer Lawn at Barangaroo Reserve - the perfect place for fire, flavour and feasting under the night sky.

With breathtaking art, world class food, and harbour vistas that could make a postcard jealous, Barangaroo is ready to shine brighter than ever. Whether you're here for the lights, the fire, or the impossibly good vibes, make sure Barangaroo is locked into your Vivid Sydney adventure.

Barangaroo Reserve
Molecule of Light
Visible from Balmain and Chatswood, this celestial laser installation brings the cosmos to Barangaroo Reserve, via a mysterious meteorite that stands 23-metres-tall on steel legs. Emitting a 528hz tone – a frequency touted to contain healing properties -- Molecule of Light pairs awe-inspiring spectacle with serene sounds, inducing a meditative state unlike anything else.
Pier Pavillion
Point of (No) Return
Glacial beauty draws you in, as crystalline blues and white swirl around a circular screen. But step closer and the colours melt, transforming into a gorgeous, destructive storm. Move back, and the ice is restored, for now.
Bond Building
Letter
Letter is a digital whisper-chain, a 10-metre-long wall made of 30 waterproof touchscreens, each showing a sealed envelope. Tap a screen to open a note (or drawing!) from a previous visitor, then leave your own — a link in a city-wide chain.

Sunrise
Become the master of the dawn with Sunrise, the dazzling interactive installation where you control the sky via seesaw! Set against Sydney’s night sky, watch a truly breathtaking time-lapse of our harbour’s sunrise. Watch from afar, or join the fun, as the faster you seesaw, the faster the sky shifts.
Barangaroo House
Laniakea
Reach beyond the stars with Laniakea, a cosmic saga named after the supercluster home to the Milky Way and 100,000 other galaxies. Set to an original symphonic score, this epic reveals how all energy is interconnected, inspired by artist David Moraton’s synesthesia, a condition where he processes colours as sound.
Wulugul Walk
Flea Circus
An ode to a historical oddity, Flea Circus is a playful nod to the head-scratching shows of yore, where tiny bugs performed incredible feats for crowds. Was it real, or just an illusion? Either way, it’s magic.
Walumil Lawn
Peekaboo Parliament
Sneak past a slumbering parliament of owls in this fun twist on Red Light, Green Light. Watching from above, these owls will wake up at random to scan the forest floor. Once they open their eyes, freeze! Will you make it to their tree's inner sanctum, complete with a kaleidoscopic surprise?
Nawi Cove
Constellations
This ethereal 3D projection hovers above the waves of Nawi Cove, projected onto a cloud of mist. Rippling through empty air and set to atmospheric electronica, it’s like a hologram from another universe.
Wulugul Walk
Electric Dandelions
During the day, twenty dandelion sculptures stand still and sentinel, towering above at a whopping eight and a half metres tall. But come night and they alight in an explosion of colour, as animations transform the petals into ‘fireworks’ that last all night long.

Obstacle
Stretching 45 metres left-to-right, Obstacle stands as one of Vivid Sydney’s longest installations ever. Both a barrier and beacon, these blocks of luminous mesh create a hypnotic corridor, as patterns glow, flow and glide across its screens, synced to a radiant soundtrack.

River of Fire
A flowing river of lava floats overhead Vivid Fire Kitchen, where the world’s best pitmasters, chefs and barbecue legends meet in a blaze of open-flame cooking and demonstrations. Smoky aromas in the air meet River of Fire, a shimmering canopy of fiery lights flowing, made from 160 custom-made LED tubes

Vivid Fire Kitchen

Vivid Fire Kitchen officially moves into its new home on Stargazer Lawn.  Expect sizzling sessions with culinary greats including Mark Best, Luke Mangan, Sharon Salloum, Annita Potter, plus food personalities like Julie Goodwin, Adriano Zumbo, Declan Cleary and more. Fire pits, smoky aromas, harbour views and free nightly programming.

Regional Dinner Series: Hunter Valley with Frank Fawkner & Alessandro Pavoni

Honouring the Hunter Valley, Frank Fawkner – the chef-owner of EXP, the 2026 SMH Good Food Guide’s Regional Restaurant of the Year – teams up with revered Italian chef Alessandro Pavoni of the two-hatted A’Mare, as part of Vivid Food’s Regional Dinner Series.
Accessible information

There are two ambulant and one accessible cubicles located near the Towns Place entrance.

The closest bus stops are in Hickson Road, close to Towns Place, and are serviced by routes 324 and 325, which depart from Town Hall; and route 311, which runs between Central Station and Argyle Street.

Wheelchair users accessing the park from the Towns Place entrance should be aware there is a 30m-long brick/cobbled pathway to navigate before the surface becomes completely smooth.

There are two accessible street parking bays on Towns Place, close to the entry to the carpark.

Wilson operate a car park beneath the Reserve, accessed via Towns Place. It provides eight accessible parking spaces on level B1. Please see Car Park website here for more details.

The Hickson Road entrance to Barangaroo Reserve is recommended if arriving by taxi or being dropped off/picked up by private vehicle.

Wynyard and Circular Quay are both approximately 1.1km. Travel via Wynyard is a little quicker, and involves using Wynyard Walk tunnel. The tunnel exits at Napoleon Plaza, which connects to the lift at Sussex Street Bridge. You can reach Hickson Road via the lift.

Tactile Ground Surface Indicators and curb ramps are consistent from both locations. Shore lining from Circular Quay is more consistent than from Wynyard for white cane users.
