Barangaroo's unique Christmas trees celebrate culture and community.
This Christmas, Barangaroo has created a unique and immersive experience that celebrates Australia's Indigenous culture and the beauty of our native flora with the Native Living Christmas Trees.These towering trees, are created with a vast array of vibrant Australian native plants which you can find right here in Barangaroo Reserve.
Renowned First Nations artist Rubyrose Bancroft has adorned each tree with her breathtaking artwork, weaving in tales of connection, community, and cultural heritage. The trees, designed by the talented Nadia Duran, are not only visually stunning but also a testament to the rich diversity of Australia's flora.
As you wander through Barangaroo, each tree will invite you on a journey through time, sharing the stories of the precinct and its deep-rooted connection to First Nations people.

Rubyrose Bancroft's Artwork
Bundjalung artist, Rubyrose Bancroft reflects a profound connection to her heritage and the land near Grafton, her ancestral home. Through intricate, repeating patterns, Bancroft evokes the passage of time, the enduring presence of her people, and their deep relationship with the landscape. Ngullingah Jugun 5 honours the freshwater creeks, expansive blue skies, and towering, ancient gum trees that symbolise strength and resilience, standing as proud sentinels over the land. Each mark is a tribute to the history, culture, and enduring spirit of the Bundjalung nation, encapsulating both personal and collective memories of country and family.
