Pickleball at Barangaroo
Rally your colleagues and friends and join our lunchtime Pickleball competition.
Free to join and easy to play, head down to Harbour Park Community Recreation Space for some lunchtime pickleball fun!Never played before? No problem! Just turn up and learn the simple rules from the friendly onsite trainers. All equipment is provided, so you just need to bring you and your enthusiasm.
Each week, there are prizes for the most fun team and overall competition winners. Most importantly, you're guaranteed to have loads of laughs!
Here's the rundown:
- The games are 20 minutes long, with two 8-minute halves and a 2-minute break in between.
- They're held every Tuesday & Wednesday between 12pm and 2pm, with your specific game time allocated within that window.
- Teams are made up of two players, and you can register with a friend or individually.
- The competition is open to anyone 18 years or older

FAQs
The league will start Tuesday 22 Aug with 20 min games assigned between 12pm – 2pm. The final will be held Tuesday 8 October. Weekly prizes will be awarded for most fun team and awards for the winners at the end of the competition.
Please register via our website. The Pickleball competition is run by Urban Rec. You will receive an email from Urban Rec with an invitation to your team. Details will be provided on how to create a free account with Urban Rec and then all league communication including game schedule, wet weather cancellations will be sent directly from Urban Rec.
Yes! You can register as an individual or team. Please complete this form and select your registration type. If you select a team, please add all your members details as everyone will need to create a free account with Urban Rec to participate.
Harbour Park community recreation space is located along Wulugul Walk. Approximately a 7 minute walk from Barangaroo South. You can find out more here.
New to the game? No problem! Learn all about the rules of pickleball, plus the team from Urban Rec will be onsite to show you the rules before each game!
All equipment is provided but please bring your own water bottle. Bubblers are located near by but bottled water is not provided.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to run around in.
Urban Rec will email directly on Tuesday morning if the game needs to be cancelled due to wet weather.
Yes. You will need to register all team members, even substitutes.
The closest toilets are located in Hickson Park and are open 6am - 10pm.
The final will be held Tuesday 6 August with prizes for the winning team, runners up and most fun team. Weekly prizes will be awarded for the most fun team as well.
Yes, you can join any time throughout the competition period. However, please note this is at the discretion of Urban Rec due to the numbers required to run the league.
Please note throughout the competition there will be staff taking photos and video to use to promote the event. Please notify staff on arrival if you do not wish to participate. Professional photographers and videographers will require talent release form signatures, which will be available on the day.
