10 Ways to reignite, reconnect and recharge this August

From sweat sessions to sound baths, this is your invitation to reset this winter.

Winter doesn’t have to mean winding down. This August, we’re swapping hibernation for something a little more energising, a little more collective, and a whole lot more fun.

Whether you’re moving, meditating or just soaking in the harbour vibes, Barangaroo You Wellness Month is packed with free wellness events designed to get your body and mind feeling good again.

Here are ten great ways to get your glow on.

1. Get steamy at Cedar & Salt Sauna

Barangaroo is hosting a pop-up woodfired sauna experience right on the harbour, thanks to the team at Cedar & Salt Sauna. Inspired by Nordic bathing rituals but grounded in coastal Australian calm, this beautifully crafted pop-up is all about slowing down, sweating it out and reconnecting with your senses. Group sessions run every day from morning to night, or you can book in for a private sauna and cold plunge combo. Whether it’s your new pre-work ritual or your post-lunch reset, your nervous system will thank you.

1–30 August | Daily, 7am – 7pm | Marrinawi Cove

2. Flow on Country with Nura Yoga

Breathe deeper, move slower and connect to place with Yoga on Country, led by proud Dharawal and Gumbaynggirr woman Jacqui Jarrett. Held weekly at Barangaroo Reserve, this guided practice brings together gentle movement and cultural storytelling in a space that centres First Nations connection to land, spirit and self. Whether you’re looking to decompress during your workday or embrace a new kind of mindfulness, this is a truly grounding way to pause, listen and reconnect. Free and open to all. Just bring a mat and an open mind.

Wednesdays in August | 12pm – 1pm | Barangaroo Reserve

3. Move and groove at Thursday Thrive

Thursdays in August can be your time to shine. Thursday Thrive is your midweek permission slip to let go, have fun and move your body. Led by The Jungle Body, this series of easy-to-follow cardio-dance classes is designed for all bodies, all levels and all vibes. Expect high energy, big beats and simplified movement that gets your heart rate up without any stress. It’s sweaty, it’s silly, and it’s seriously fun. Come solo, come sweaty, come as you are.

Thursdays in August | 12pm – 1pm | Pier Pavilion

4. Quiet your mind at Still Sundays

Regular sauna use is linked to reduced stress, improved mood and better sleep. It's your chance to switch off from screens, breathe deeply and reset your nervous system all without lifting a finger (unless you’re pouring water over the rocks). The sense of community and connection in a group sauna can also be a big mood booster.

Sundays in August | 8am – 9.30am | Pier Pavilion

5. Treat yourself to nourishing eats

Wellness isn’t just what you do, it’s what you eat. Luckily, the Streets of Barangaroo are home to some of Sydney’s best feel-good food. Build your dream bowl at Fishbowl, where fresh, Japanese-inspired ingredients meet sustainable, fast-food style convenience, or pop next door to Side Room by Fish Bowl for vegan smoothies, toasties and salads. Season 2 Fruit does vibrant juices, smoothies and salads that taste as good as they look. For something more substantial, try Wild Sage, where the menu ranges from miso bowls to lobster tacos. Or perhaps you’re craving sushi? You’re spoiled for choice with several fresh, flavourful options including Zushi and Sushi Hon. Your body (and your taste buds) will thank you.

6. Reset your perspective at the Re:Connect Talk Series

Step away from your screen and into a conversation that matters. The Re:Connect Talk Series is a weekly lunchtime session curated by not-for-profit A Sound Life that pairs live music with thought-provoking guest speakers across topics like mindfulness, menopause, microbiomes and more. It’s your midweek mindset shift, served with a side of free coffee or juice. Speakers include the likes of Catherine Pritchard, Matt Ringrose, Jourdi Bleu and Karen Stein.
