Jump on a ferry or train, grab your picnic food from The Streets of Barangaroo or Crown Sydney or pack you own delicious snacks to create the ultimate picnic.
Make a day of it
Start your day with a swim in Marrinawi Cove then spend the afternoon relaxing in the shade of Barangaroo Reserve. Afterwards, why not grab a refreshing drink at Sunset Sessions in Watermans Cove (Thursdays - Saturdays from 4 to 20 January) or early dinner at The Streets of Barangaroo or Crown Sydney delicious bars and restaurants. You can either catch the train, bus or ferry home!
There will be intermittent closures of certain areas of Barangaroo Reserve in preparation for NYE. Please note, Barangaroo Reserve will be closed from midnight 30 December until 6am 1 January 2024 for our New Year's Eve celebrations.
For the enjoyment of all and preservation of Barangaroo Reserve, please note the following important information to please be followed:

Barangaroo Reserve encourages passive recreation for the enjoyment of all. Active balls sports and kites are not permitted

No structures (such as gazebos, tents, backdrops etc.) are permitted
- There are no BBQs or picnic tables in Barangaroo Reserve. The nearest BBQ is in the neighbouring Clyne Reserve
- If you are hosting a picnic of more than 50 people or with large infrastructure you will need to apply for a picnic permit via the Venue Hire page. Please note the Barangaroo Events team are out of office until Monday 8 January
- You will be required obtain a permit if you have more than 50 attendees, bring structures onsite, and/or hire a professional service company to serve food and alcohol.

Please leave the site clean and tidy. There are bins located in Barangaroo Reserve.
BYO drinks, food and picnic blanket. BYO alcohol is permitted, but please drink responsibly.
Public toilets are located in the Pump House near Towns Place, in the Cutaway foyer and Hickson Park in Barangaroo South. Accessible toilets and baby change facilities are located in all locations.
