NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week is a national celebration held every July, recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a time for all Australians to reflect on the strength and resilience of First Nations communities and to honour the world’s oldest continuous living cultures.
The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates 50 years of NAIDOC Week and acknowledges the leadership of young Indigenous Australians who are carrying forward the legacy of their ancestors with pride, strength and purpose.
NAIDOC Week presents a valuable opportunity to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, engage with community stories, and deepen your understanding of Country and connection. Whether through art, music, conversation or ceremony, it is a time to listen, learn and show respect.
From its roots as a movement for justice and recognition, NAIDOC Week has grown into a vibrant, nation-wide celebration of Indigenous identity and contribution. It is a reminder of the importance of truth-telling, cultural respect, and shared responsibility in shaping a stronger, more inclusive future.
